I'm here in Japan with my daughter in July, and this place was an amazing escape from the heat. Everything else we were finding to eat was fried and hot, and that did not sound good when it's 100°F and 80% humidity outside. I saw this place and saw that it had cold sandwiches and bread with lemon jam, and it was so yummy. The lemon jam was so good, I bought a few jars to bring home. And the seasonal apricot soda was delicious.

The seats are a bit cramped. There’s a self-service corner for seasonings, but it would be even better if water was also available there. The sandwiches are delicious — especially the scrambled egg and bacon one (don’t forget to add cheese!). The apple pie is not too sweet, the crust balances it out nicely, and the cinnamon is just right. Even someone like me, who usually doesn’t enjoy apple pie, found it impressive.

We stopped for breakfast here, and it was a welcome haven from the heat and crowds. The toast is made from freshly baked bread and is delicious. Staff were lovely, quick and efficient. The cakes looked amazing! They also have some lovely cookies to take home for gifts. Would highly recommend a stop here.

Lovely people with just the right amount of food after a day of shopping and sight seeing. The rhubarb float was brilliant! (Plus, if it’s summer, GREAT air conditioning!) pictured is triple cheese with tomato and ham.

Beautiful little café serving a large variety of sandwiches as their main menu item. You are able to add extra toppings like cheeses, ham and chicken for a small price. The sandwiches are toasted perfectly and the fillings are so incredibly flavorful. As well as sandwiches there are a lots of baked goods such as cookies and different pastries avaliable at the front of the store. Bakery Shima is a lovely place with incredibly kind staff. (the photos are of two different times I went)
